The proof sheet below is pre-rendered. JavaScript enables live transformation and the three-step copy fallback.

Filters published preview subsets by declared glyph coverage only. It does not change the site language. Your text stays in memory and never enters a font request.

Bold characters, not a formatting command

This generator maps supported Latin letters and numbers to Unicode mathematical alphanumeric symbols. The copied result keeps those code points when pasted; it does not carry a CSS font-weight or rich-text bold command.

Serif Bold and Sans Bold lead because they are direct choices for the core intent. Script, Fraktur, and italic forms follow as visibly different alternatives.

Use bold Unicode for short, reviewed text

A short label, display name, or caption is easier to verify than a transformed paragraph. Keep the original wording nearby when search matching, moderation, or assistive technology matters.

If you control the destination’s HTML or document formatting, semantic strong emphasis or a real bold font is usually the more accessible option.

Expect honest pass-through outside mapped characters

Not every language, symbol, or punctuation mark has a corresponding Unicode mathematical bold character. LettroCraft preserves unsupported graphemes instead of dropping or inventing them.

Review mixed output carefully: a fallback character can look lighter or come from a different system font.

Plain answers

Frequently asked questions

Is this the same as pressing a bold button?

No. A formatting button applies style information in the destination. This tool substitutes supported characters with bold-looking Unicode code points.

Can I paste bold text into a plain-text field?

Often yes, because the output is Unicode text. The destination still decides whether each character renders, saves, searches, or is accepted.

Why are bold italic results separated?

They combine two visual intents. Keeping them in a related group lets direct bold choices stay first while preserving useful alternatives.

Will every character become bold?

No. Coverage varies by Unicode alphabet. Unsupported punctuation, emoji, non-Latin scripts, and some symbols remain unchanged.
